State stipend for PhD students, resident physicians, and assistants

All international students and stateless citizens studying at ITMO within the quota set by the Russian government receive the government stipend throughout the entire period of their studies regardless of their grades. 

• September 1 – January 31 – for newly-enrolled students;
• February 1 – June 30;
• July 1 – August 31.

Students receive their stipend every month during the study semester after they have passed interim exams. 
 

The financial value of the stipend is determined by the educational organization but cannot be lower than specified by the Government of the Russian Federation for each level of education and student category given the level of inflation. 

At ITMO the stipend amounts to: 

• Priority fields – 9,300 rubles;
• Non-priority fields – 3,900 rubles

Stipend is transferred to the Bank St. Petersburg card issued to every student during their first year. 

To receive the increased stipend, you have to fit the following criteria: 

• only “good” and “excellent” grades upon the completion of  interim exams;
• no academic backlog. 

• February 1 – June 30;
• July 1 – August 31.
