EXPULSION FROM ITMO

After repeat interim exams, the Student Services Office draws up lists of students to be expelled and informs these students via email. Within three working days after receiving the email, you can provide a written explanation of why you failed to successfully complete your courses and fulfil the study plan.

An admissible excuse, such as an illness, will make it possible to extend the period of your repeat interim exams. In this case, you must complete the form “Продление промежуточной (или повторной промежуточной) аттестации по уважительной причине” via my.itmo.ru within three days after receiving the document confirming your valid excuse. After your request is verified, the dates of your repeat interim exams will be extended for the duration of your illness.

If you don’t have a good reason for failing to complete the program, however, you will be expelled within a 10 working days.

ITMO University forms the draft of the order of expulsion after your last payment was due (or after the extended period to provide it has ended), informing the student about it via email. The contract for paid educational services will be terminated in a one-way fashion based on the order of expulsion.

We kindly ask you to read the University internal rules and regulations, as well as the Student Code.

In case of a violation of these regulations, a student may receive a admonition. Repeated or serious violations within one academic year may result in expulsion.

If the Disciplinary Committee decides to recommend your expulsion, you will receive a draft expulsion order by email.

Within two weeks after your leave has ended, you can file an application to extend your leave or return to studies at my.itmo.ru. If neither application is filed, the student will be expelled.

After the two-week period is ended, the Student Services Office creates a draft order of expulsion and informs students to be expelled via email.
