TRANSFERRING TO ANOTHER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

If you want to change your field of study within ITMO University

The committees on student transfer operate twice a year — in August and January-February. Applications for readmission to ITMO University for the winter period will be accepted from January 19 until 7 PM on January 28.

NB! You cannot be transfered to the 1st semester of the 1st year. You can only enroll in the 1st semester of the 1st year during the admission campaign.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Transferring to another educational program without changing your subject area

    • For students with no outstanding payments for educational services (if you are a tuition-paying student).

  • Transferring to another educational program in a different subject area

    • If the program of planned transfer has open positions. Information about tuition-free and fee-based positions will be published later.

    • For students with no outstanding payments for educational services (if you are a tuition-paying student).

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications will be accepted at my.itmo.ru from January 19 until 7 PM on January 28.

Prepare you documents

Attach scanned copies of documents proving your outstanding achievements in academic, research, social, creative, and sports activities at ITMO University (if applicable).

Submit request for transfer

Fill in the “Transfer to another educational program” application form on my.itmo.ru.

Bring the originals to ITMO

After your request is approved, you will receive a notification inviting you to sign the application at the Student Services Office.

If you aren’t in St. Petersburg

ASSESSMENT INTERVIEWS AND TESTS

The assessment interview and the assesment test is one of the steps you will need to complete during the readmission process. You will receive a notification and step-by-step guide in your application on my.itmo.ru with a link to register for the meeting.

To take part in the assessment interview and test, you will need: a PC/laptop, stable internet access, and a web camera. Assessment interviews are conducted by staff members of the respective faculty or department.

DECISION ON YOUR APPLICATION

The Committee’s decision will be sent as a notification regarding your request in my.itmo.ru in early February.

  • If your application is approved

    If your application is approved, the order on your transfer will be issued within ten business days after the academic difference record is signed.

    If you are transfered to a fee-based program, you will need to sign an education agreement. The order on your transfer will be issued only after you submit the signed contract for paid educational services to the International Students Learning and Support Center.

    Also, your student ID card will remain valid, so there is no need to request a new one.

  • If your application is rejected

    If your application is rejected, don't be discouraged!

    You can apply again for the next committee meeting. The number of attempts while you are studying is unlimited.
