TRANSFERRING TO ITMO FROM ANOTHER EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION

For those who have found a suitable degree program at our university.

The committees on student transfer operate twice a year — in August and January-February. Applications for transferring to ITMO University for the winter period will be accepted from January 21 until 7 PM on January 28.

NB! You cannot be transfered to the 1st semester of the 1st year. You can only enroll in the 1st semester of the 1st year during the admission campaign.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Transfer to tuition-free positions

    • Only for those transferring from tuition-free positions,

    • If the program of planned transfer has open tuition-free positions,

    • Only in the same year or the year below depending on the outcome of the interview.

  • Transfer to fee-based positions

    • Both from positions with and without tuition fees,

    • Only in the same year or the year below depending on the outcome of the assessment interview.

Applications will be accepted at my.itmo.ru from January 21 until 7 PM on January 28.

Prepare you documents

You need to gather all the documents listed here to apply for readmission.

Submit an application form

Fill out the “Application form” on my.itmo.ru.

Submit request for transfer

Fill out the “Request for readmission after expulsion” form. To your application, attach scanned copies of all documents as .pdf files.

You can submit up to five different applications.

Once your Request is considered, you will have to bring the original copies of your documents to the Student Services Office. Your request, application form, and consent to the processing of your personal data can be downloaded from your application by employees of the Student Services Office.

If you aren’t in St. Petersburg

ASSESSMENT INTERVIEWS AND TESTS

The assessment interview and the assesment test is one of the steps you will need to complete during the readmission process. You will receive a notification and step-by-step guide in your application on my.itmo.ru with a link to register for the meeting.

To take part in the assessment interview and test, you will need: a PC/laptop, stable internet access, and a web camera. Assessment interviews are conducted by staff members of the respective faculty or department.

DECISION ON YOUR APPLICATION

The Committee’s decision will be sent as a notification regarding your request in my.itmo.ru in early February.

  • If your application is approved

    If your application is approved, the order on your transfer will be issued within ten business days after the academic difference record is signed. You will also receive a transfer certificate to submit to your former university so that you can be dismissed from it due to the transfer.

    If you are transfered to a fee-based program, you will need to sign an education agreement. The order on your transfer will be issued only after you submit the signed contract for paid educational services to the International Students Learning and Support Center.

  • If your application is rejected

    If your application is rejected, don't be discouraged!

    You can apply again for the next committee meeting. The number of attempts while you are studying is unlimited.
