Student travel card

Student travel cards (or BSKs) offer students a cheaper way to use public transport in St. Petersburg.

There are several monthly plans available:

  • universal student travel card (includes tramway, trolleybus, bus, and metro) – 100 metro rides and unlimited rides on other forms of public transport;
  • combined student travel card (includes tramway, trolleybus, and bus) – unlimited rides;
  • metro student travel card – 100 rides.

You can find the monthly costs for each travel card on the official page of the St. Petersburg metro (in Russian).

The following documents is required for BSK etching:

  • passport;
  • student ID card;
  • 3x4 photo.

You can check the data in the system in the personal account of the ISU / My ISU / Administrative Services / BSK. If the data is not current, you must follow the steps according to the instructions.

How to get and activate your travel card

If you already have a card issued during your studies at ITMO

  • On August 30, information about returning and new students is submitted to the metro database;
  • From September 1, you can reactivate your card at any metro station’s ticket office. 

If you have a card issued during your studies at another St. Petersburg university

  • On August 30, information about returning and new students is submitted to the metro database;
  • From September 1, you can reactivate your card at any metro station’s ticket office – you have to inform the staff that you have changed universities (the card will be reprogrammed; make sure to have your passport and student ID). 

     

Important info:

  • If you want to apply for a card in place of a lost one, you have to first disable the latter at any metro ticket office – for that, you will need your passport. After that, you can apply for a new student transport card. 
  • If any of the personal data listed in your passport has changed, you will have to bring it up to date in ISU by following this instruction (in Russian).
