In 2020, ITMO’s library went through a major renovation. Now, here you can not only lend books, but also work, host an event, or just relax comfortably. You can also use the sound-free area equipped with computers and the library staff are always ready to help you find the right sources.

You can find even more of them online. With the EBSCO Discovery Service (EDC), you can access research publications, student books, and other documents using a single search window. On the library’s website, you can also leave a request for new sources, access the available databases, and learn how to register in the library.

You can gain full access to online scientific journals and databases, through the Distance Learning Center. Sign in here, using your ISU login and password. The website is in Russian so please follow the instructions below:

  • On the top left, click on Информационные ресурсы (Information resources)
  • Underneath two bullet points will appear. Then click on the second one: Интернет ресурсы (Internet resources)
  • Here you will see a list of full-text resources (Полнотекстовые ресурсы) such as ScienceDirect and Wiley, archives of scientific journals (Архивы научных журналов) such as Nature and Springer, and abstract and citation databases (Реферативно-библиографические ресурсы) such as Scopus and Web of Science.

ITMO.SHARE

With ITMO.SHARE you can rent laptops and tablets for free for 1 to 4 hours a day to use them for your studies or work. 

The service is active at the university’s Lomonosova St. and Kronverksky Pr. campuses. You need to apply in ISU in advance to rent a device (ISU/Электронные заявки (Digital applications)/ ITMO.SHARE).

You can rent any device Mon-Sun 10:00 am - 8:00 pm given that you are ready to take on full financial responsibility for it. You also have to apply for a device on time to ensure its availability on the day that you need it. Applications are processed within 30 minutes on working days. The available devices have some software preinstalled and if you want to have additional software installed, you have to apply no later than 24 hours in advance.

We cannot guarantee that all software you request can be installed.

LitRes library

Thanks to this service, you can access thousands of ebooks and audiobooks in any genre.

In order to get your reader’s ID, fill in this form (in Russian). You will receive your login details at the email address that you put in the form.

Ready to go! You can choose any book you like (in Russian and other languages).

Important details:

  • LitRes library is a separate branch of LitRes book store. Here, you can only get the books that are available at the library;
  • you can’t get access to more than one book at a time;
  • you get each book for 2 weeks, after which the books will be automatically returned to the library;
  • you can hand in books earlier by putting them into the Archive folder.
