First aid posts and hospitals

Any student at ITMO University is entitled to receive medical help.

Two first aid posts, located within the ITMO University’s campuses, provide first aid care to the students. In order to consult with a particular medical specialist, students need to be attached to a hospital. How to do this, what documents do you need to have with you and what to do if you are an international student? We have answered the most important and frequently asked questions.

  • General practitioner’s visiting hours: Mon - Fri, 10:00 am - 4:30 pm.

If you did not submit your medical documents to the Admissions Committee when applying to ITMO University, you must provide:

  • form 086/y certificate;
  • a copy of a vaccination certificate
  • a copy of a compulsory medical insurance policy;
  • a copy of a medical assessment of a chest X-ray performed in Russia (annually).
     

What types of assistance are provided at the first aid posts?

  • First medical aid for sudden illnesses to students and staff.
  • If necessary, patients are referred to medical specialists and in-patient hospitals.
  • Health-promoting initiatives designed to protect and strengthen students' health, such as medical examinations, X-ray tests, etc.
  • Implementation of sanitary, hygienic and educational work, contributing to the formation of a healthy lifestyle among students.
     

How can I become assigned to a hospital as an international student?

  1. Obtain a VHI (voluntary medical insurance) coverage that offers insurance for the subsequent forms of clinical care: preventive medical examination, diagnostic examinations, medical specialist consultations.
  2. In case of illness or injury, contact your insurance provider for referral to a medical institution or make a paid visit to one of the city’s medical institutions, including the city hospital no. 75.
