Feedback as a tool for changes in the educational process
The educational process is very dynamic and constantly changing. An important component of this process is communication between its participants – it’s important to receive feedback from students, teachers, and administrative departments.
High-quality communication makes it possible to identify successful practices, challenges, and make the educational process more comfortable for all parties.
In order to establish effective communication, in 2020, ITMO launched System 360 – a system of events for a comprehensive assessment of course implementation. In the 2020-2021 academic year, 4 events were held within the framework of System 360 :
In addition to the survey on courses, within System 360 the Center for Educational Management and Quality Assurance conducts many surveys on various aspects of the educational process: on offline, online, and hybrid classes, on the modular format, retaking courses, electives, etc.
Thus, the data obtained as a result of any survey becomes the basis for subsequent changes in the educational process. Implementing changes based on survey results is a long, serious, and complex work that requires a lot of resources. Below is a list of changes implemented in the educational process based on the results of surveys conducted in the 2020-2021 academic year.
These examples illustrate how students’ opinions can lead to changes in the educational process.
If you have any ideas and suggestions on improving the quality of education that, you want to share, you can reach out to the Center for Educational Management and Quality Assurance via email by writing to email@example.com or to the Vkontakte group.
