Enhanced stipend competition

This stipend rewards students for engaging in various activities and excelling in their studies

Competition criteria

The stipend is awarded to Bachelor’s students in years 1-4 and Master’s students in years 1-2 who meet the following criteria:

  • No subjects graded “satisfactory” at interim exams;
  • No academic backlog;
  • Student is eligible for government stipend;
  • Achievements in the following fields listed in the Provision (in Russian): 

Dates of the stipend competition

Candidates are chosen once every semester as a result of a competition in accordance with the Provision. Since 2018, the applications are accepted online up to.

  • 05.02.2024 (from 10:00) - 12.02.2024 (up to 18:00) – competition for Bachelor’s students in years 1-4, and Master’s students in years 1-2;
  • 05.07.2024 (from 10.00) - 11.09.2024 (up to 18.00) – competition for Bachelor’s students in years 2-4, and Master’s students in years 1-2.

Stipend payout periods:

  • September 1 – January 31 – for newly enrolled Bachelor’s and Master’s students;
  • February 1 – June 30 – for Bachelor’s students in years 1-4, and Master’s students in years 1-2;
  • July 1 – January 31 – for Bachelor’s students in years 2-4 and Master’s students in years 2;
  • July 1 – August 31 – for graduating students of all levels during summer holidays. 

Students receive their stipend every month during the study semester after they have passed interim exams. 

The scholarship is paid monthly on 3-5 days of the previous month. The exceptions are December (for December, the payment occurs on the 27-29 days of December) and April (for April, the payment occurs on the 27-29 days of April).

The order for the scholarship for the next semester is formed based on the results of the previous session:

  • August 26-27 following the results of the summer session
  • September 26-27 for 1st year students (bachelor, master)
  • February 24-25 at the end of the winter session

Financial value of the stipend

2,000 to 27,000 rubles

The amount depends on the number of points and the place in the rating, which is formed based on the results of consideration of applications by the competition commission.

The maximum amount of the scholarship depends on the number of winners in each particular competition.

Stipend is transferred to the Bank St. Petersburg card issued to every student during their first year. 

The order of formation of the rating of winners

  1. Submission to the Competition is carried out in 5 directions
  2. The score is summed up within each direction separately and normalized (in social activities, additional normalization is performed in internal directions)
  3. The normalized scores in all directions are summed up and the final rating is normalized again
  4. Applications are accepted online via ITMO’s ISU system
