Academic leave

In 2025, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation approved an updated procedure and grounds for granting of academic leave to students.

Therefore, starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, ITMO University employs new rules concerning academic leave. You can find more information about each type of leave in the following subsections:

• Academic leave due to exceptional circumstances
• Academic leave for medical reasons
• Academic leave related to military service (only applicable to Russian citizens)
• Academic leave for reasons of pregnancy and childbirth
• Parental leave
